Mr. Marius Vizer, President of International Judo Federation stated :

"The IJF and its President were really pleased to honor some of its special guests, on the occasion of the Judo Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi. Ambassador Jean-Paul Carteron, Chairman of the Monaco Ambassadirs Club, received the official IJF judogi as a sincere gift for his strong passion for our sport".

President Valery Giscard d'Estaing : one of my first mentors

 

I was a student at the University of Paris when I met him for the first time : indeed the Minister of Finance Mr. Giscard d'Estaing used to come from to time to deliver a lecture to the thousands of students and professors of the Rue d'Assas.

It was always a success.

Then he became President of the Republic and my admiration always remained growing. I kept being impressed by such an extraordinary person.

Intellectualy, I always felt very close to him .

I am happy to have kept this picture. We exchange before an important meeting. I had a lot of pictures from this period but the time passing, they disappeared...

 

A first but essential milestone in the life of the Crans Montana African Women's Forum : Huguette Labelle Chair of Transparency International joins the Honorary Committee

On the personal invitation of Amb. Jean-Paul Carteron, Mrs. Huguette Labelle, chairperson of Transparency International at the World level - she can now be considered as a Founder of the Crans Montana Forum - is joining the Board of the Crans Montana African Women's Forum. That is a most significant milestone.

 

If time has come for Women in Africa, time has come also for Women to join the fight against Corruption and Economic Crime ! For years Mrs. Labelle has been showing the way.

 

On the invitation of Amb. Jean-Paul Carteron, Mrs. Huguette Labelle, chair of Transparency International, has joined numerous Crans Montana Forums !

 

Here, in Monaco, she is introduced to HSH Prince Albert. Just behind them Mr. Federico Mayor, Director General of UNESCO and Mr. John Stammreich, CEO of Boeing Corp. In a few hours they will be the official guests of the Monaco Ambassadors Club.

Hotel de Paris in Monaco is the place for prestigious dinners !

On this beautiful evening, Ambassador Jean-Paul Carteron who is  the Honorary Consul of Bulgaria to Monaco, hosted Mr. Petar Stoyanov President of Bulgaria and his wife.

All members of the Monaco Ambassadors Club had been exceptionally invited to join this very important moment for the Principality.

At the end of the dinner, President Stoyanov presented J-P. Carteron with the highest decoration of Bulgaria : Stara Planina First class.

Prime Minister Alain Juppé of France and one of the oldest friends to the Forum, was attending.

November 28, 2013 : Dubai is the winner ! The 2020 Expo will take place in the Emirate. Minister Al Hashimi has been leading the Committee of Dubai and was obviously in Paris at the very moment of the vote !

In 2012, the Crans Montana Forum has "adopted" Evgenya Tymoshenko, the daughter of Iulia to support her in her fight to simply get a doctor for her mother. The Crans Montana Forum is proud to work together with the European Parliament and the Council of Europe on this most sensitive issue.

C'est au cours d'une belle cérémonie, célébrée sous les ors d'un palais bruxellois et qui rassembla nombre de diplomates en poste en Belgique, que Jean-Paul Carteron a reçu les insignes d'Officier dans l'Ordre de Léopold, dignité à laquelle il a été nommé par SM le Roi des Belges.

L'ordre de Léopold (en néerlandais : Leopoldsorde) est l'ordre militaire et civil le plus important de Belgique, il doit son nom au roi Léopold Ier et a été fondé en 1832.

La décoration fut établie en 1832 sous l'impulsion du comte Félix de Mérode, ministre d’État à l'époque et fut décernée pour la première fois à un sapeur français nommé Ausseil qui perdit une jambe lors du siège d'Anvers. Il comporte trois catégories : civil, militaire et maritime (créée en 1934). Elle est décernée pour mérite et s'étend dans tous les domaines.

Durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, l'ordre de Léopold fut décerné à plusieurs officiers d'armée étrangère qui ont aidé à libérer la Belgique de l'occupation nazie, parmi lesquels George S. Patton, Bernard Montgomery et Dwight Eisenhower.

The President of the Crans Montana Forum, Amb. Jean-Paul Carteron visited President Mahmoud Abbas at the Muqqatah in Ramallah.

On this occasion he presented the PRIX DE LA FONDATION to the successor of Yasser Arafat and delivered an important message from an European high level Authority.

Shimon Peres, Minister, Prime Minister then President and the Crans Montana Forum : a long story since years !

Before being elected as President of the State of Israel, Shimon Peres has been, for many years, joining regularly the Crans Montana Forums around the World !

His friendship with Amb. Jean-Paul Carteron started before 1994 when an extraordinary session of the Forum in Bucharest co-organized with President Ion Iliescu put together the Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and the President of Palestine Yasser Arafat.

Nice-Matin just published again this picture taken in Monaco on the occasion of a Crans Montana Forum on Europe and the Mediterranean at Hotel Monte-Carlo Bay. In Shimon Peres hands, the newspaper announcing " a Nobel Prize in Monaco".

Indeed it was an event !

Avocat honoraire à la Cour de Paris n'est pas un titre, c'est une dignité conférée à vie par le Conseil de l'Ordre à un nombre relativement restreint d'Avocats qui ont cessé de pratiquer leur profession mais restent agrégés à leur Ordre.

La cérémonie qui eut lieu chez Drouant fut donc un moment d'émotion surtout lorsque le Bâtonnier Christian Charrière Bournazel remit à l'Amb Jean-Paul Carteron, désormais Avocat Honoraire à la Cour de Paris cette médaille hautement symbolique et précieuse.
