32 years ago, Jean-Paul Carteron founded the Club de Lausanne then the Crans Montana Forum in the extraordinary Summer and Winter resort of Crans-Montana (Wallis-Switzerland), one of the most beautiful and famous places in the World.
The Crans Montana Forum is a totally unique Organization, well known and respected around the World.
The more tham 120.000 VIPs we hosted (from Governments, International and Regional Organizations, Parliaments, Administrations, Universities, Business etc) since its first sessions remain the Forum's friends without exception !
The success of this Forum is based on an institutional modesty, a limited structural importance and a daily simplicity.
The Forum's Organisation nor its Board's Members for 32 years have never been involved in any business interest. It has always been the guaranty of its independance and credibility. This success and this ethics made some ones jalous ! They deserve no interest.
Indeed, the Crans Montana is considered today as the most influential and prestigious think-tank in the World, working in the discretion, fat the highest level and far from publicity and mediatization.
The slight difficulties we met, from time to time, were the very modest price of an extraordinary achievement ! Who can pretend to such a success and a duration ?
The Crans Montana Forum is a World leading Organization.No one can challenge it.
Today the Forum is starting another period of activity for at least (!) 30 years thanks to a new and young management.
The Forum will remain the place where to be and meet with top decision makers for working on International Cooperation in the most elegant and informal framework. Indeed the lowest political level of Participants is the ministerial one !
In 1997 the Forum's HQ moved its administrative offices to the Principality of Monaco. Indeed Monte-Carlo is the center of gravitation of the Mediterranean and South-South Cooperation.
Our main sessions still take place in Switzerland (August and October) but also in Brussels, Monaco, Vienna, Baku, Rome, Malta, Bahrein, Rabat, Dakhla, Geneva, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Bucharest, Budva, Tirana etc... !
The oldest annual gathering is the traditional Summer session which takes place, every year since 1989, in the resort of the Crans-Montana Municipality itself at the heart of the Republic and County of Wallis !
Indeed the spirit of the Forum is directly inspired from the Swiss mountains which are the most beautiful in the World ! It is an always renewed satisfaction to see how Participants and Constituents enjoy the fresh air of Crans-Montana.
12 juin 2015 - trente années d'amitié entre le Forum et Crans-Montana : Jean-Paul Carteron accueille au Concert Noble à Bruxelles le Président Jean-Daniel Clivaz, représentant les Autorités du Haut-Plateau de Crans-Montana pour la cérémonie officielle de remise des insignes de Commandeur dans l'Ordre de Léopold par M. Didier Reynders Vice-Premier Ministre de la Belgique et Ministre des Affaires Etrangères selon Décret de Sa Majesté le Roi Philippe en date du 30 avril 2015 et ce, en l'honneur des trente ans d'activités du Forum de Crans Montana.
12 avril 1994 - événement d'envergure qui consacre l'entrée du Forum dans les grandes affaires du monde : j'accueille à Bucarest Yasser Arafat et Shimon Peres. Durant ces trente années, dans le Processus de Paix Israelo-Palestinien comme dans bien d'autres crises, le Forum de Crans Montana a été présent avec discrétion mais une réelle efficacité.
